Message Say you've got 600hp at the flywheel. Ask yourself how many road racers (read: GT class cars) have that amount of horsepower?

You've probably got as much horsepower as some of the top Sports & GT Class race cars down here in NZ, and they're setup to handle that kinda horsepower. Owen Evans (one of the local heros) races a Porsche 911 GT2 - that is usually pulling 600hp, the wick can be turned up to 650-700hp on demand. He's got slicks that are like 315mm wide and he still gets it sideways ...........

Some of you guys have got SERIOUS amounts of power under your right foot. If I were in your position, I would:

1- Take your Z out on a road race track with an experienced instructor. Count the seconds before he/she asks you to turn down the boost (my guess is the first time you put your foot down)
2- Get TCS. Great saftey net (but it won't save you from doing something really *bright*)
2- Set your car up like it's meant to handle 600hp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[ Subframe bushings, diff bushings, remove hicas, super soft road legal race tyres, shocks, springs, sway bars, top notch alignment etc etc ]

Trust me, do those 3 things and your Z probably won't scare you any more and you'll be a much more confident driver. NOTHING bar NOTHING compares to getting your car out on a road racing track and learning how to drive an overpowered RWD car...

I cannot emphasis number 1 strongly enough. Even in my 'lowly' stage 3 the skills learnt on the track have saved my butt that many times it's not funny. And I can have a guess that half if not more of the people here who've had serious accidents would still have their cars today if they had of had some road racing instruction.

: night playing around with *2* C5's. I may have to get this Traction control $hit sooner than expected. Because, I D@MN near $hit on my self!!! All I can say is, "Guys & gals BE VERY CAREFUL when driving with a HEAVY foot!!!" AND the "3rd gear downshift is, TROUBLE..." Afterwards, I park the BEAST in the garage, and pulled the SE back out to put my LIFE into better perspective... LOL(:-o)
